Naan Bread

Naan bread is a recipe that was developed in India and is part of food for majority of Indians.  It is an enjoyable food that originated in East India area few centuries ago.

Naan Bread
Since last few years naan bread is also relished by many Asians and Europeans. The naan bread is a cool recipe to make that does not require too many ingredients. One needs to be patient though, to allow the bread to rise for several hours before baking.

You can take a small container, put the water in and add the sugar and the yeast. Then  blend the mixture until it is completely dissolved. Set it aside and wait for five to minutes while it begins to foam. Once foam is formed on the top, stir in the milk, yogurt and butter. Take another container to mix the flour, salt, powder and poppy seeds. Pour the yeast mixture over the top. Blend everything neatly with your hands. The dough might be soft, so gradually add flour as needed in order to get the desired consistency. Once the dough is mixed well and at a good consistency, knead for 5 to 8 minutes. The dough will become elastic.
Gently oil a large bowl and set the ball of dough in the center of the bottom. Place a large cloth over the top of the bowl. Set aside and let the dough rise for about four hours or until it looks like it has doubled in size. Wrap the finished loaves of bread in a cloth and place in a basket while the other loaves are baking. Naan bread can be enjoyed with any type of meal, whether it is made of East Indian cuisine or not.
